Technology (CRR)

In my English class we are talking about technology. Technology is used for many occasions. It has a lot of positives and negatives. The good things about technology is that it can help find and do research on anything. You can communicate with people through cell phone and social networking. It can help you with homework and also learn around the world. One of the most famous website to search for basically anything is "Google". Google can search up anything you need help on. The danger teenagers face in dealing with technology is that their brains can become more easily habituated to become attached to technology, than adult brains to constantly switching tasks and less able to sustain to support and strengthen attention. What makes me curious about technology is what if there were no technology? We would probably be lost and not know anything of what we know now because in today's society, technology is a major part in our lives to help us learn new things and help us with our work.

(FC) Intro

Hi, my name is Leslie. I am 17 years old. I'm funny, sweet, dedicated, honest, intelligent and loyal. I love to sing, dance, and I would actually love to be an actress. Ever since I was a little girl, I was that girl who is really good at imitating people and pretend I was playing roles of people. When I see my favorite T.V shows/movie, I would sometimes picture myself acting in a T.V show/movie. Currently, my favorite actress is Ximena Duque. When I see her on T.V she makes me want to become actress, but that's not just what I want to major in. I also would like to become a model. I always dreamed to be a model ever since I was 8 years old. My favorite animal is dogs. I think puppies/dogs are just the cutest, playful, loving, caring animals. I would never do no such harm to any animals. Another thing that seems to interest me in is Marketing and Computer Information Systems, it seems interesting to me because both my uncle and aunt majored in Computer Information Systems. I love to draw/sketch. I am really good at visualizing an image and drawing the exact same thing onto a sheet of  white paper. I love to be creative and do art. People have told me their selves that I'm a great artist. My favorite sports are baseball, softball, basketball, and volley ball. My favorite baseball team are the YANKEES. There are a lot of things that I want to major in life, but the one main thing that I want to major in life is being successful in life!     

Chocolate (FC)

I love chocolate! My cravings for chocolate can be a little crazy sometimes! Especially at midnight, when I start to crave... HERSHEY'S! Hershey's is my favorite chocolate bar candy. Chocolate makes me happy because I love it so much. Only my family and friends would know how much I love chocolate. When I'm tired and stressed, and I eat chocolate, it makes forget a little about being tired. My friends would buy me chocolate or even surprise me with chocolate. I once seen the biggest Hershey bar EVER! There was a raffle and for every ticket, it was a dollar! So I put in like five dollars for five tickets, hoping that I will win it but, sadly I was not the winner. Who ever won it, they are so lucky! 

U.S. History and Global History (CRR)

I always wonder, why do we need U.S History and Global History class?... I understand that all these wars and horrible people back then has done a lot of damage to this world... but it not like we will need to know this in the future. What matters is now... not the past! Well the past does matter, but what really matters is what's happening now. People should try and start to make a better change in their lives to become a better person. Global History and U.S. History is not really my favorite subject. I don't seem to understand and remember all the things that happened in the past. There is a lot of things that happened in the past that we need to remember, but it's just so many. For some reason these classes and I don't seem to connect. I try my best to listen and understand, but it seems like it just goes through one ear and out through the other ear. Others find this subject pretty easy and that's great! I hope I do well on all my regents ...especially U.S. History regents!

Struggles (FC)

Everyone struggles in life. School can be a struggle sometimes with all these projects, homework, exams, tests and quizzes! Right now I'm struggling because I was suppose to do this blog yesterday, but sadly I just couldn't, with all this homework I'm having. I'm trying my best in school and so far, I am doing great. I'm receiving 80's and mostly 90's in all my classes. But there is one class that I just can't seem to stay on the 90's. Sometimes I feel like a need someone who will be there to help me with all my problems/situations. I hope life in the future, I won't struggle with things. I'm in the 11th grade and I'm struggling just thinking about how college is going to be like; and how my future is going to look like. But I can't think about all the negatives, I have to think about the positives in life. What I know for sure is that I want to finish high school, go to college, and be successful!

My Puppy Jeter! :) (FC)

This is my puppy Jeter. As you can see his name says it all. He is named after my favorite baseball player. I'm a Yankees fan; and my favorite baseball player is #2, Derek Jeter. It was my sisters and I who decided to name him Jeter. I LOVE this puppy like crazy! Every time I get home from school, I have a huge smile on my face for 2 reasons; happy cause I'm going home and seeing my baby Jeter. Ever since I got this puppy I was full of excitement because I always dreamed about having a puppy. He brings a lot of joy and happiness to my life. He's my everything. I have treats for him and so I taught him some tricks. So far he knows how to sit, lie down, spin, stand, give me high five with his 2 paws and give me paw. He is a very talented puppy and I'm glad I have him in my life.

English Elective (CRR)

In my English Elective class we are talking about a story call the "Little Rock Nine". Its about how back in the old days were like when they use to have segregated schools. There were schools that only allowed people who were white, but didn't accept people of color because they thought colored people were different from the whites. When I read about this, I completely thought that was just ridiculous! Its horrible to read about how many people were treated horrible back then. People shouldn't be treated differently only because they look different. Everyone should be treated equally. That's why there's a quote that says "treat people the way you want to be treated". But I thank God on how some people decided to stand up and be proud of who they are; and helped make a HUGE change such as Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, etc.
